Term One 2025 - Girls Lacrosse Opportunity

In Term One 2025, CMS girls have an awesome opportunity to receive quality lacrosse skills coaching from an ex CMS student and lacrosse super star Piper Russell!!

Piper currently attends Cambridge High School as a Year 13 student and has recently returned from Australia as part of the NZ BLAX Senior Women's Lacrosse Team at the World Champs qualifiers.  She has also just committed to an American University on an athletic scholarship for lacrosse in 2026.

Piper will be offering specialised coaching sessions for Year 7-10 girls for the duration of Term 1.  It's a fantastic way to learn about the sport, to make new friends, for active enjoyment and to boost existing lacrosse skills.  The skills sessions will be capped at 15 girls per session to learn the basic skills and fundamentals of lacrosse and have a heap of fun!

WHEN:  Sundays starting 16 February to 6 April (9:00am to 10:30am or 10:45am to 12:15pm)
WHERE:  Cambridge Middle School field
COACH:  Piper Russell assisted by Ethan Bailey (CHS Year 13 student) 
COST:  $160 for the term. You will be invoiced for this via an email from Cambridge Middle School. Please make payment by Thursday 13 February. We will cap each session at 15 players.
GEAR: 
 Own sticks are welcome and we do also have CMS sticks to loan out.  Please wear CMS sports uniform, sneakers and mouthguards (compulsory).  Also bring along sunscreen, water bottles, snacks and HERO values.

Summer Lacrosse at Cambridge Middle School

The Intermediate School League runs during Term 4 and is organised by the Waikato Lacrosse Association (WLA).

2024 TERM 4 INFORMATION:

WHO: Year 7 & 8 students

SEASON DATES: Term 4 2024 - Saturday 19 October (no games Labour Weekend) to Saturday 07 December

WHERE: Tamahere Recreation Reserve (by Tamahere School)

TIMESLOTS: 2pm, 3pm, 4pm

GEAR: Lacrosse stick, mouthguard, box (boys), black PE shorts/tights, CMS Numbered sports t-shirt or Numbered bib (will be supplied by CMS). It is recommended (but not mandatory) that players wear lacrosse goggles as eye protection.

COST: $50 per player for the term. You will be invoiced for this via an email from Cambridge Middle School. Any player who has not paid by the due date will not be registered.

GAME FORMAT & INFO:

  • This league is played 6 a side with a maximum of 12 players named on game day and a maximum of 14 players in each squad

  • The Boy’s competition has one division - Boys Division

  • The Girl’s competition has an A Division & B Division

  • Each team must name an umpire/referee when entering
