Waikato Hockey Association is excited to announce the return of our Mini Madness in 2024. Your children will have to opportunity to play hockey related games and learn new skills. Mini Madness is a fundraising event for one of our amazing coaches who has been selected to participate in the New Zealand Under 21 North vs South event. She plays a huge role in our mini hockey here in the Waikato and is looking forward to running Mini Madness for our amazing Mini Hockey community.
WHEN: Saturday, 06 April - Years 7-8 from 11.30am-12.30pm

WHA Under 12/14 Camps - 22-24 April
Under 12/14 Camp - Monday 22 - Wednesday 24 April
WHA will host combined U12 & U14 Development Camps in the April and September School Holidays. These camps are aimed at players with a good basic skill set and understanding of the rules of hockey. The camp will have a high coach to player ratio. Participants will be training in small groups working on individual skill development, basic skills and advanced technique. Both camps are three days and have a ‘day camp’ and a ‘live-in’ option. Spaces for both camps are limited and based on a first come first served principle.
WHEN: Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 April
COST: Day camp only $220, Live-in camp $325 (Camp Shirt included with registration)

Winter Hockey at Cambridge Middle School
The winter hockey league for our students is run by the Waikato Hockey Association.
Registrations are handled directly through LOCAL CLUBS:

INFORMATION for the 2024 season:
WHEN: TBC starts Friday 3 May through to Friday 30 August (No play Kings Birthday Friday 31st May, Matariki Friday 28th June and during School Holidays, 12th & 19th July)
WHERE: Most of the games are at various turf venues in Hamilton and sometimes in Matamata https://www.waikatohockey.org..... Games usually begin between 5:00pm and 7:30pm.
GEAR: Hockey stick, shin pads, mouthguard, black PE shorts, PE top (thermals ok for training during winter), Club sports t-shirt (to be provided for games), other uniform to be confirmed by clubs. Goalie kits are also provided by clubs.
COST: Set by each club, payable directly to your chosen club
